CHARLOTTE'S ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE RETURNS
MARCH 11, 2023 IN UPTOWN CHARLOTTE
Charlotte's much loved St Patrick's Day Parade returns this coming Saturday, March 11th. On Saturday you can enjoy marching bands, floats, Irish dancers, Irish music, Celtic arts and crafts, food, vendors. The Queen City has not had a St. Patrick's Day Parade for three years and this popular Charlotte tradition has been missed.
Charlotte's St. Patrick's Day Parade tradition began in 1996 with a small group of people, accompanied by a bagpiper, walking down Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte to mark the day. Since 1996, it has grown into an all-day extravaganza when Charlotteans can enjoy all things Irish. In past years, as many as 80,000 people attended Charlotte's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Charlotte, North Carolina will be an all-day affair this Saturday for Greater Charlotte residents. And you don't have to be of Irish heritage to enjoy the celebrations when all of Charlotte will be going green. The Going Green Festival will run from 10:00 AM till 6:00 PM on South Tryon Street in Charlotte's Uptown, between Stonewall Street and 3rd Street. The event is free and family friendly with a Celtic Zone set up for the young ones.
