Youth Voice Summit

City Youth Services in partnership with the Gaithersburg Youth Opportunities Coalition is hosting a Youth Voice Summit for middle and high school students on March 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. The summit will focus on opioid awareness and will feature guest speaker Deena Louden, who tragically lost her son to fentanyl poisoning in 2020. The program also includes a panel discussion, resource fair, prize drawings, and lunch. Student breakout groups will create public service announcements to raise awareness about the dangers of opioid use. Participating students will receive Student Service Learning (SSL) hours and a t-shirt. Learn more here

Regretfully I know several people who are addicted to drugs so I am really happy that there is a program like this in your schools Roy Kelley . I am afraid that with all the illegal drugs flowing over the boarder things are only going to get worse.

Love that purple flower!

Hate that our country is facing such an opioid problem!

Love that you stay involved in your community and ActiveRain.

Roy Kelley - I hope that doesn't happen. You stayed in ActiveRain to benefit your local community while supporting active AR agents in the real estate industry. Your re-blogs were always tasteful, and in the best interest of those who had their stories re-blogged for all the RIGHT reasons. You never attempted to gained a spotlight in the sun to use material for a book written in your name. Everything you did was for their purpose only.

Posting daily reblogs and blogs will be more difficult for me without the scheduling feature that I have used for years.

Perhaps if families weren't broken, the youth wouldn't turn to opioids to try and solve their problems.

Five years ago, I was totally clueless about Fentanyl. I don't believe I had even heard its name.  But, here we are with it being a serious threat.
