Why retire in Tennessee?  Tennessee is sometimes overlooked when it comes to retirement destinations.  But, it's really ideal due to its mild climate, natural beauty and low cost of living.  It's actually like being on vacation year-round.  Here's a quick overview...

We do have four seasons, but the winter is short and mild.  It's usually 'jacket' weather until after Christmas - then we have about 6 weeks of colder weather.  Sometimes there's snow - but not often.  It's just enough to make you appreciate the seasons.   Usually, by the middle-end of February, we start having those glorious spring days that make you want to get outside and start planting flowers.

The Tennessee landscape is diverse, going from the flat area around the Mississippi River over to the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee.   We're located in Middle Tennessee, which offers just enough hills, valleys and lakes to give us gorgeous scenery. 

Tennessee has a sound economy with very little debt.  Combine that with a low cost of living and NO state income tax, it's a great place to live.  It's an excellent choice for retirees....read more
