Friday Fun…Bring on the Green!

 

While to my knowledge there is not a drop of Irish blood in me, I love St Patrick’s Day. 

                     

In my young adult days, it meant green beer (which I only sipped) and corned beef and cabbage. 

Our extended family and friends in Delray Beach were huge on St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Each year we attended the Delray Beach St Patrick’s Day parade. 

 

The Delray Beach St Patrick’s Day Parade n 2016 was special because the Honored Grand Marshalls were World War II Veterans flown in for the event. 

 

 

 

So for Friday Fun…if you could have just one of these to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, what would it be??

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Shepherd’s Pie




You gotta try your luck at least once a day because you could be going around lucky all day and not even know it.

Of the 3 I would choose the corned beef, but it is Friday during lent and I am sure that Raffe will not be having meat today either, haha.

Good morning Kathy. While I never liked "green beer", never had any problem drinking plenty of beer on St. Patricks day in my younger years. As for Corned Beef and cabbage, have it several times a year, it is one of my favorites. Enjoy your day.

St. Paddy's is also one of my favorite holidays because of the cheer and fun amongst those that participate, Kathy. We planned to eat corned beef and cabbage for several days because it is so delicious! Cheers to the green beer!

Hi Kathy, 

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Last weekend, I made corned beef and cabbage.   My husband made a Ruben Sandwich out of the leftovers.  I have to admit, it was the best I have made.  The corned beef was very lean and moist.  It was a great start to the week!

BTW - I am almost 50% Irish descent and have never had any beer.  Maybe a sip or two over the years.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® Larry loves Ruben sandwiches!!!!  I'm not a beer drinker but did have lime beer that I mentioned above. It's half limeade and half beer. They had it in Mexico to help cut the salt when you've been diving. It's so refreshing.

I was just sitting here thinking.  I've had plenty of corned beef and cabbage in my life, but I've never had green beer.  I did have a McDonald's Shamrock shake today, however.
