Where do the healthiest eating squirrels live? Los Angeles of course...

What a great question:  Where do the healthiest eating squirrels live? Los Angeles of course... Gloria Todor  and I were bantering about this very subject just the other day. So, without further ado look at these pictures, let me know where I am going wrong?

Our backyard squirrels and I used to compete about our Tangerine crop. Now we are competing about the orange crop. The way I can tell our citrus is starting to get ripe is when I see the evidence our squirrels leave i.: the citrus peals.

Now in all fairness I do not mind them eating the fruit, I just get annoyed when they waste to fruit.

Often times I converse with my neighbors who have avocado trees, and they have the same stories to share.

Well see for yourself. Now all I can say is not many states can provide such healthy nourishment as we can here in California. Not only do the squirrels enjoy the fruit but so do the Hummingbirds in case you did not know. We enjoy helping out our visitors from the Animal World:)

Endre, I had no idea they liked oranges!  I am sure it is the freshness that they cannot resist.  It is an on going battle with squirrels once they find out where the goodies are!  I bet your kitties enjoy seeing them in the yard! 🍊

Good point Endre Barath, Jr.  No doubt a lot of the food at the beach is snack food. But then fruit has lots of sugar!

Good morning Endre. When we lived in Florida we had a squirrel that was a regular visitor when our yorkie was on the lanai. He would run back and forth with the dog chasing him from below. It was very entertaining. Enjoy your day.

Hello Endre - I have seen squirrels scurrying around parts of my neighborhood as well.  They and I don't seem so prevalent when precipitation make puddles less passable.  Perhaps we both need to be more persistent.  I don't typically speak for squirrels - that would be nuts, right?

Love the photos! Our squirrels eat pine cones and the like, so that's fine with me!

I can attest that those oranges are pretty tasty but I am wondering if there were seeds all over the ground from the squirrels spitting those out or if they swallowed them, haha.

Endre Barath, Jr. - and now we know, squirrels don't just eat nuts and bird seed! I had no idea squirrels were the culprits for the crime of stealing oranges!

FYI... I am still trying to figure out what critter kept eating my strawberries!
