But what is alien may just be a HUGE blessing.

The BIG alien I always dreamed of in Real Estate was to list a million dollar home. In the history of Minot ND there have been less than six homes listed for a Million dollars and the most expensive home I had listed was less then $400,000. Listing a million dollar home would have been alien to me, scary yet a blessing at the same time.

I made a good living in Real Estate and I had many types of listings from mobile homes to beautiful new homes in the upper sales range of Minot homes... but never a million dollar mansion. During my career I had also listed commercial and some large swaths of farm land so I did meet a few aliens and they made me money but didn't meet my personal dream.

Dream On!

Whether you are a brand new licensee or near retirement I encourage you to dream on and look for that giant alien that just may fulfill your wildest dreams.

Good morning, Bob... I've had my share of $1+ million sales. However, I've never sold a mobile home and don't plan to. Also, never sold a farm, except for some horse property.

Nina Hollander, Broker one needs to keep in mind that our market is dirt cheap compared to most. My home was just assessed at $160,000 and I know if we could drop it into your market or many others it would sell for double that.

Bob "RealMan" Timm my home was just reassessed from $560K to $760K. Big tax bill coming August, unless they reduce the tax rate as they've been promising to make it revenue neutral. But I'll believe it when I see it. And I can't even challenge the assessment, as I know I'd get more the $760K if I sold today.

Nina Hollander, Broker the ND State legislator in currently in session and they to are always promising to lower our taxes but it never happens. The time or two they have then the school district asks for more money and we are right back to the same old crap.

In DC, million dollar homes are pretty common - for the most part clients just want caring competent agents whom they can trust - I am sure you would do just fine if you were in this market.

Bob just to be clear my father said to me "every dollar is a dollar" I have sold vacant land for $27,000 the other day and I am about to close on a $4 million dollar home, may I say they were both challenging so with that said. I had multi million dollar land listings and met Billionaire buyers and they are no different than the $400k sellers or buyers, equally emotional and equally ..... will leave it at that, Endre

I have dreamed of being in such a market Lise Howe thinking that I wouldn't have to work as hard to earn a living but then comes the realization that there is more competition and higher living costs so I guess it all washes out about the same.

Ed Silva I think the same. The more expensive the listing the more stressed I have been worrying that if I don't sell it fast they will pull the listing from me. Stress, stress, stress!

That truly makes me feel better Endre Barath, Jr. However I will say that I worked with a multi-millionaire one time as he purchased a condo here to be near the University he graduated from. He uses it about one week out of the year. It was the easiest sale I ever made. I was walking out of the condo building and he was out in the yard writing down my phone number on the For Sale sign. I introduced myself, showed him the condo and he said "sold" and paid cash for it.

I also have this alien dream for listing or selling a $1+ million house.  In our area that is not common.  Our average Wisconsin Price is $284,000 ... so we have to sell a lot more homes to make the same as someone who is selling Million dollar houses.  About 4 years ago I did get a potential listing of a farmland that was worth over a million, but because it was not my area of expertise I referred it to the Master Land Lister (he was retiring but took my referral) -- he sold it in one week!  It was a nice commission check for me (even at the 25%) ... so no complaint here!  I would like to list and SELL a Million Dollar house before I retire!  Just sayin'😇

Precisely the reason location,  location, location makes a big difference in real estate.  $1 million in Scottsdale doesn't buy much house any more - so $1 million in your area would be $2 million here.  Such different markets. I get it! It's always nice to dream!

Yup Jan Green - Scottsdale, AZ and the reverse is true as well, a $500,000 home here would most likely sell for a million there.
