There are very few tasks that a REVA cannot complete.
Make sure you create a job description that is clear and will define the requirements of the assignment.
If you are seeking a Marketing Coordinator, don't switch around the position after hiring the assistant and insist that the Real Estate Virtual Assistant provide Marketing, Listing, Closing and Leads Management.
Most of us will only work in specific fields and only a few of us have provided services long enough to have advanced skills providing all services.
Create a check list of tasks that you do every day.
Separate those tasks by items requiring a license, items that can be delegated, and items that can be handled remotely. Believe it or not, most of the delegated and remote tasks can be handled by a Real Estate Virtual Assistant, including answering the phone. With the vast usage of technology, emails (Outlook & Top Producer) and messages can be handled remotely. Phone calls can be routed or intitially handle by the REVA, listings can be managed remotely (MLS entry), eBlasts can be sent out instantly without you having to spend any time at the computer making sure there aren't and bounces, and closings can be processed online with 24/7 online access to agents, buyers, sellers, lender and the Title
Company using popular programs such as RELAY Transaction Management or SettlementRoom. Additionally, websites can be edited remotely, pictures can be emailed in bulk to your REVA. Lastly, we can communicate instantly though Messenger (Yahoo, MSN Messenger, and AOL), cards can be created and approved virtually, flyers can be sent directly to Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, The UPS Store, or Kinkos for printing and pickup by the agent, newsletters and blogs can be managed online, web designs can be uploaded and managed via the internet with FTP. Your first line of defense is to know the real estate laws of your state and board. I do have a listing of states on my webiste (State Laws). When you have an assistant that will manage the back office, spending your time getting new clients and managing the license part of the career is very small in comparision. Similar to selling real estate, your partnership with a REVA takes TEAM WORK. What can't we do? Work on site, show a home, use your supra key, negotiate a contract, attend closing, and pretend to be a licensed agent by giving advice. If control and micro-managing is an issue, working with a REVA is for you. if you are looking for a sales agent, a REVA is not for you.
