Once again this year, there has been a drought declared, and the City of Aurora is calling for two days a week of watering effective May 1st, 2023.
Although the mountains have had an excessive amount of snow, that does not always equate to enough water for the City's use. The snow needs to continue, and the City of Denver hasn't seen much in the last few weeks.
Per the City of Aurora -
"Due to the intensity of the worst drought the arid west has seen in 1200 years, our reservoirs will soon be below 50% full. Getting them back to a sustainable level will take some time and some very wet winters. It may be challenging, but everyone can do their part to reduce their water use, starting with a two-day-a-week watering restriction based on your address."
I am definitely ready for spring, but some much-needed rain would be good! Guess those days of the kiddos running through the water hose are over! So sad, those were fun days!
