We are keeping the Easter Bunny hopping and those chickens havent been laying down on the job either. Local communities in Sandpoint and Ponderay are gearing up for Easter with a host of exciting festivities planned for children and families. Here are some of the local events happening in the area.
Christ our Redeemer Lutheran Church is hosting its annual 10K Egg-stravaganza on Sunday, April 10th. (Yep that is 10,000 brightly colored eggs) The egg hunt, which begins at 11 a.m., is open to children between the ages of toddler and 12 years old. The Sandpoint Lion Clubs will hold their annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16th, at Lakeview Park. The event starts at 9 a.m. sharp and is open to children three years and older. Starbucks will provide hot coffee, while Kaniksu Dental Health will distribute toothbrushes. Each age group will also have a chance to win a bike. Cedar Hills will host an "Easter Jam" on Saturday, April 16th, from 4-5 p.m. The event, which includes worship, games, and an Easter egg hunt, will be held at the church located at 227 McGhee Road. The Assembly of God Church in Sandpoint will host an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 17th, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be held at Great Northern Park.
Lastly, the city of Ponderay will have a parade starting at 9:35 a.m. on the corner of Fifth and Birch on April 16th. The city's Easter egg hunt will follow at 10 a.m. in Triangle Park.
