Exploring The Grand Central Madison Terminal in New York City

By
Home Stager with Feng Shui Manhattan Long Island #888

All aboard!! Jamaica Station has a direct connection to Grand Central Madison which is a new terminal that is directly below the Grand Central Terminal.

The escalator in Grand Central Madison is the longest in New York City! - at 182 feet, with a one-way trip on the escalator taking about 90 seconds. It's recommended if you have a scheduled meeting, it best to leave some extra time to navigate your way out of the Grand Central Madison terminal.

You can also view some amazing mosaics designed by artists Yayoi Kusama and Kiki Smith.  I'll admit, I didn't have time to fully explore as I was on a timeline to meet a client for a Feng Shui Consultation. The next time I travel into Grand Central Madison, I'll be sure to set aside the proper time to view the mosaics.

I think it's great that commuters finally have a more direct link to the East side of Manhattan, vs only being able to enter through Penn Station and navigate from there. This project began in 2008 and the Grand Central Madison Terminal opened on January 25th, 2023.

Having been in Grand Central Station many many times, and taking trains and subways from there, my first thought when seeing the featured photo was "Wow, it's so CLEAN!" Once I read your post, I figured out why - it's brand new! Thank you for sharing.

Good morning Laura. Wow, the terminal looks incredible. It is like those scenes from sci-fi movies, haha! It took 15 years- quite long- but the result is fascinating.

Very cool post, I've only been to New York twice, both time for 24 hours - so no exploring and lots of airports. Fun info and photos.
