My previous life on the rain...
Hi there this is Dave Laven and I'm excited to be back on Activerain once again. It's been a long time(over 10 years) since I regularly used this site but I plan on becoming a regular blogger on here once again. Previously I mainly used Activerain to promote properties and collect backlinks to sites I was building in the Boston area. Some of these sites focused on things like Boston lofts for sale and others focus on things like finding properties that were within walking distance of public transportation. But to be honest I don't think I was using Activerain the right way. And especially now with how sophisticated Google search algorithms have become I don't think that just posting links to one single listing and kind of doing it in a spammy way really adds any value to anybody whether it's other Realtors or the consumer looking for things related to their search. But after taking off almost 10 years from the business and moving to a new market here in Vermont I've had a lot of time to think about what my strategy would be if I was ever to relaunch my real estate business. Originally I planned to do it right before covid started but as we all know once that hit it was time to put things on hold until we had a better idea of where the world was….Well this gave me even more time to think about how I would want to tackle the Vermont real estate market.
So here is what I came up with.
The first step was to establish my team site which you can check out at TheLavenTeam.com I decided to do this site using some technology from Ylopo…mainly to test it because it wasn't around when I was previously doing real estate and I wanted to see if it's any good(I will blog more about this later). But to be honest this isn't my true passion or what I want to focus on. As the title of this blog (The Creative Realtor) indicates I'm really a creative person who has lots of creative ideas on how to promote real estate, improve the customer experience and do it in a way that will allow me to build a brand that can be scaled. Sure I'll do some traditional things that I've always done like cold calling and some mailings and some other forms of marketing like that... but my real focus is going to be on building a brand here in Vermont. So after some long thought and relying on my previous experience as a realtor in the Boston area I decided I was going to try to build a brand focused on helping people looking to buy and sell condos in Vermont. As you can see I just gave myself a little link love right there to help establish my new project in the search engines. If you want to check it out just go back and click on that link:) Okay so if you clicked on that link you saw that I'm essentially building a database that's super useful to anybody looking to buy or sell a condo in Vermont and in future posts I'm going to get into more detailed discussions on how I plan to build my brand here in Vermont. So please if you're a regular on this site who actively blogs and likes sharing ideas check out my newest project Vermontcondopros.com and let me know in the comments if you have a good blog that I should follow back.
Thanks for reading this post and I look forward to connecting with as many of my fellow Activerainers as possible on this new journey to build a brand in Vermont.
