Come & See! Bluebonnet Trails - Ennis, TX

By
Industry Observer 0506509

On Friday, 4/14/2023, I took a bus trip with the Flower Mound Community Center to the Bluebonnet Festival and Bluebonnet Trails in Ennis, Texas. Although I am not a shopper for material goods, I enjoyed lunch at the Fern in the Wild & Shopping. The food was very healthy and good to taste. But it was the restaurant Host and Waitress that was very professional and welcoming that added to my dining experience. Plus, I got to meet some new people from Flower Mound and had lunch with Linda. She was awesome and good company to talk to about Flower Mound and I learned what brought her to the community of Flower Mound from Virginia. We had great conversations.

The best part of the trip was driving down the 40 miles of Bluebonnet Trails in Ennis. Once the bus stopped and pulled over to the side of the road it was great to get out and stretch and take pictures. As you can imagine, I couldn't stop taking photographs. So, without any further words, I hope you enjoy just a few of my favorite photographs. It was by Baldwell Lake located in between Dallas and Houston.

For me, there is no greater joy than to be one with nature. These are the places where I am most energized. Although it looked like rain, it did not rain, and the clouds added to the texture and colors of the wildflowers on the Bluebonnet trails. As the wind blew through my hair, it was as if Mother Nature was brushing it, tossing it in front of my face, to remind me, she was in charge. My job was to keep my eyes open and enjoy all of the beauty on Bluebonnet Trails. My eyes got to see splendor in the grass. I hope you enjoyed it too.

Patricia

Good morning, Patricia... I adore bluebells... and as always, your photos are simply wonderful.

Nina Hollander, Broker - Just because the Texas Bluebonnets only bloom once a year, I think I appreciate them more. Once a year, I look forward to seeing them. This year, I am thankful I got on that bus to Ennis to see them in abundance, along with the Indian Paint Brush, Pink Evening Primrose, and Blue-Eyed Grass.

Thank you for the compliment!

Brian England - It was the perfect day to be among the Bluebonnets and all the TX wildflowers. We had two bus loads of men and women. No rain, just amazing rain clouds and all that beauty!

I so enjoyed looking at (and experiencing) the photos Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP.  As geeky as it may sound, my eyes welled feeling the splendor of Nature, and could strongly feel the presence of our Creator and all of creation.  We are so blessed!

Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist - not geeky at all! I couldn't stop rubbing my eyes and wiping the moisture flowing in slow steady streams down my cheeks, knowing it wasn't because of the heat.

Feeling the splendor of Nature produces high energy! You just know there is a higher Power. Knowing that I was right there, in the present was very spiritual.

Even if it had to stare at sheets of rain, I still would have gained vitality. I am positively delighted you felt it too!

Those flowers are stunning, Patricia.  I'm looking at the scene with the picnic table.  What a wonderful place to have lunch that would be.

Myrl Jeffcoat - I was mesmerized by that picnic bench and the feast beneath it all. It is a tradition to take family photos among the bluebonnets and some couples even take their vows. What I love best is to see the little chidren, especially the baby's first photo surrounded by Bluebonnets. It is the perfect setting and celebration of birth.

Your post reminded me of a Texas hike I took a few years ago to view all of the beautiful spring flowers.  I was taking a bunch of pictures and decided that I should take a close up.  The ground was rocky, so I found a soft spot of ground to kneel upon.  I was just about to take a picture and my knee exploded in pain...Red Ants were feasting on it and rapidly moving up my leg and into my shorts.  I jumped up, dropped my shorts and quickly brushed off all of the ants.  Only then did I notice all of the people around me.  They had quite a laugh.  So did I, eventually!

Hi Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP.  It was not all that bad and I do tell the story quite often.  And I did get one heck of a picture.  😃  I do appreciate and thank you for your concern.

Ray Henson - That must have been a terrible exprience for you. I can't imagine the pain and embarrassment you must have experienced. I have seen families place their children among the bluebonnets and never heard of anyone else getting attacked be fire ants.

On behalf of the State of Texas, please accept our apology.

Yes it was great to see the bluebonnets and other wildflowers growing so profusely!  We don't get anything like that here, since many flowers just bloom year round.  I've been enjoying the California wildflowers on YouTube lately.
