Do you wish you could become one of those rare morning people who wake up feeling refreshed and energized? Well, you're in luck! Here are some additional tips to help you transform into an early bird:

  1. Create a bedtime routine: Just as it's vital to have a morning plan, it's equally important to have a bedtime routine that helps you wind down and prepare for a good night's sleep. This might involve reading a book, taking a warm bath, or practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation.
  2. Practice gratitude: Starting your day with a grateful heart can significantly impact your overall mindset and well-being. Please take a few moments each morning to reflect on what you're thankful for a supportive family, a fulfilling job, or a comfortable home.
  3. Stay hydrated: Drinking water first thing in the morning can help boost your metabolism and energize your body. Keep a glass or bottle of water by your bed so you can hydrate as soon as you wake up.
  4. Find a morning buddy: Having an accountability partner can help keep you motivated and on track with your morning routine. Find a friend or family member looking to become an early bird and check in with each other regularly.
  5. Practice mindfulness: Incorporating mindfulness into your morning routine can help you feel more present and centered throughout the day. Try starting your day with a few minutes of meditation, journaling, or gentle yoga.
  6. Prepare for your morning the night before. Lay out your workout clothes or work clothes, pack your lunch, and gather anything you'll need for the next day. This can save you time in the morning and help you feel more organized and prepared.
  7. Avoid screens before bed. The blue light emitted by phones, tablets, and laptops can disrupt sleep and make it harder to wake up feeling rested. Try reading a book or doing a calming activity before bed instead.
  8. Use an alarm clock that works for you. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to alarm clocks. Some people prefer a traditional timepiece, while others like to use their phone or a light-based alarm clock. Experiment with different options to find what works best for you.
  9. Make your morning routine enjoyable. Find ways to make your morning routine something you look forward to. It could be listening to music or a podcast while you get ready or taking a few minutes to enjoy coffee or tea before you start your day.
  10. Be patient and persistent. Adjusting to a new sleep and wake schedule can take time, so be patient with yourself. Keep trying even if you have setbacks or days where you oversleep. Over time, your body will adjust, and waking up early will become more accessible and natural.

By following these tips, you can become an early bird and enjoy the benefits of a productive morning routine. Remember, everyone's sleep needs differ, so it's essential to find what works best for you and stick with it. With time and practice, you can train your body to wake up early, feeling refreshed and energized.

Great practical tips Charles, and if I had cup of coffee as delicious looking as the one in your photo it might help me even more! Jeff

I have a new habit of drinking at least 12 ounces of water when I first wake up. It has really helped start the day.

Being a morning person, I don't use an alarm.  I do go to bed around the same time every night.

Great points to live by!  Unfortunately I am a late night person and so my early morning wakeup is usually later than I would like.  But I have to get enough sleep to perform each day.  My clients are aware of my late mornings so I rarely have to worry about taking any calls prior to 9 am.
