This Week…Our Earth

 

Today we celebrate our home…we celebrate our Earth. Today is Earth Day 2023. 

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

While I’m not a tree hugger, I try to minimize the impact I have on the planet  Larry and I are big on fixing what’s broken rather than adding to the landfill. 

 

Let us permit nature to have her way. She understands her business better than we do.

You don’t have to be the CEO of a large company to have an impact.  Like many things in life, things get done by the many who take it upon themselves to make a change.

Earth Day is also a celebration of our wonderful planet. Larry and I jumpstart our day with a morning walk usually at the Preserve and, if not, at some other park or wooded area.

Brian England don't laugh but I was going to lean against (not hug) a tree in our backyard while trying to film our birds leaving the nest. But I looked and there was some kind of giant bug on it. Needless to say, I moved far away.

I certainly add my share to the landfills, but I do try to reuse whenever possible. Example:  I bought new sheets because the fitted sheet in our primary set was worn and ripped.  I cut the worn fitted sheet down for rags and used the top sheet to make extra pillow cases. I'm far more likely to use pillow cases than I am an extra top sheet.

Wow - that's amazing, Sharon Tara during Covid I bought dozens of wash cloths and put them in my guest bath to be used. And I cut up the white ones to use those in place of paper towels when I could. I love using them.

Preaching to the choir here, Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty we do have Prius but mainly because it has great gas mileage. And yes, I agree. there are many who preach...while doing so from their private jets.

Wayne Martin We are such a throw-a-way society.  When we moved back to Houston, Larry decided to do our own yard work primarily for the exercise. We'd sold our equipment long ago. So he went on Offer Up and bought what we needed. We hate the idea of adding more to the landfill.
