Tuesdays Treasures…Looking Up to Grandpa


All of us can have an influence on the young people in our lives. And Grandfathers are no exception. 

Our little Raffe is experiencing so many things thanks to his parents, his grandparents, and the whole family. 

 

 

Even though at his pre-school graduation, he expressed a desire to become a garbage collector, I have a feeling it will take a back seat to other possibilities.

This weekend, Mike( my brother and Raffe’s grandfather) and his band played at the Great Taste of the Heights.  

 

I wonder if Raffe is considering taking up the guitar.

Love this photo of little Raffee looking up to the stage and the music flowing! You wonder what was he thinking? I'm sure he his mind was opening to so many new experiences. its so important for kids to have extended family surround them. Love the quotes.

Ray Henson you never know!  His dad writes and composes music and conducts the church choir. He wrote the song they played when my niece walked down the aisle at their wedding.  (had to get the approval of the Catholic church0

BTW I would have loved to have been a garbage man back in the day when I was a strong young man. I would have needed some acreage and a pole barn or two for all the stuff I'd end up bringing home.

Hello Kathy, It was my grandfather that I talk to after college to see what field I should get in, he said well you would not be good sitting behind a deck but sooner for you to follow your parents and get in the restaurant business.  Sound advice from him.

Several years ago, there was a little guy on my street, who wanted to be a garbage collector when he grew up.  They moved away.  I need to hunt him down and see what he's up to.  He'd be about 25 now.

Grandfathers are so important.

My dad was only six when his dad died.

My mom's dad died one month before my 3rd bday.

So no grampas for me.

I have a pic of me, maybe three years old, sitting on a lounge chair with my great grandfather and I treasure it.
