Friday Flags in Terryville CT  5.05.23

I was on my way to an appointment this morning and as I had a few minutes to spare wanted to stop and grab the photo.

In front of a fast-food restaurant was a flag billowing in the breeze.

Friday Flags in Terryville CT  5.05.23The curiosity of Ray Kroc to learn why a small restaurant in CA would need several multi milk shake mixers led to the establishment of the fast-food giant that is now all over the world.

This morning I just needed the picture of this flag and may go back another day as everyone knows their fries are the best.

Ed, fun to see both flags flying with the wind blowing pretty good.  They do have good fries!

Two American classics, Ed -- Old Glory and McDonalds. I don't think I've ever heard of Terryville.

George Souto  Check to see if they fly the Macdonald's flag as well.

Joan Cox   The fries are the best thing on their menu.

Nina Hollander, Broker   It's a small town outside of Waterbury in Litchfield county

I still remember the first McDonald's that was here in Sacramento.  Hamburgers back then were only 15 cents.

Great Flag photo op Ed. Funny, one of our grandkid's wanted Wendy's fries and as soon as I tasted one I said to Larry..."McDonald's are so much better"!

Hi Ed,

Funny story about those fries... My husband and I were returning from our honeymoon in Hawaii on a brand-new 747.  The sky lounge was open, and we had a drink with another couple.  The man told us that McDonald's was switching over to a fry mix from real potatoes.  He was supplying the machines to do the mix.   Both my husband and myself said that would never go over.  Little did we know...

Now you have me craving a milkshake even more than I already was, but I don't think McDonald's is where I will get it, haha.  What is the red flag pictured?  I don't recognize it.

Myrl Jeffcoat   I remember them being that as well and one store even had a special for 7 burgers for $1.00.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE®   The change has been very successful for them as the seasoning and the right temperature oil gives their taste a distinction.

Kat Palmiotti   I purposely wait for the wind to pick up so I can get a clear shot.

Brian England   That lower flag is a MacDonald's flag complete with the golden arches.

The first time I went to McDonalds was for Mother's Day. When I was a kid in school they gave us coupons for free food at McDonalds so we could treat our mom for Mother's Day. It was a big deal because my mom was a single mom so we didn't have our dad to advocate for us and do something nice. Secondly, we didn't have any money at that age. Lastly, we had never been to McDonalds. I'm the oldest of 5 so I still recall going there. Yes, the fries are the best although I haven't had them in over a decade at least. I'll pay attention to our McD's to see if they fly flags as well.
