Denverites Now Need Boats!

Denver started seeing severe storms Wednesday afternoon when heavy rain, damaging hail, and tornadoes were forecasted.   We don't usually see tornadoes in the City but have had a few over the years.     I know Aurora had sirens going off and had to retreat to the basement for safety.   There was one that touched down out East of Denver.

Thursday Denver saw constant rainfall on Thursday and so far today, it hasn't stopped.    The forecasters are saying we have seen nearly 4" of rain so far, and more to come.   We have flooded roads, and some are closed.   We are very arid here, so this rain is very usual.   (if it was colder, we could have gotten way too much snow!)

The good part - we were starting to go back into a drought, and pretty sure this will put a good dent in it to fill the reservoirs now.   We are hoping to see the sun later today!

Joan Cox Stay safe, please. The weather has been so crazy all over the country.  We had tornados here and we never have had them.

There is no true predicting of Mother's Nature.  Stay safe and many reservoirs will see increase levels here in the western states.

Nina Hollander, Broker luckily, was able to stay home during the worst of it.   Was in the basement for the tornado warnings with the kitties.

Hi Joan Cox - It sounds like a scary situation has been averted.  It is so rare to see a tornado in our part of the country.

Sheri, in Denver too.   You will hear about them on the Eastern plains a lot, but not in the City.

Time to build an ark! We had similar weather for a few days a couple weeks ago and really needed the rain so it was welcome but could have done without the hail and tornado warnings (which are very unusual here). We are now seeing a lot of car dealers' ads for hail damaged cars.

Diana Zaccaro Broker Associate we had many homeowners have flooded basements, we got almost 5" of rain in a couple of days.   WAY too much, but like you, we could really use the rain.

Has it dried out any, Joan? Or is it still "Noah, get the boat!" out in Denver? :)

Miriam Odegard we are not getting inches of rain at one time, but every day it has rained a bit.  The last couple of days, we are socked in with smoke from Alberta's wild fires.
