Motivational Monday… Be Who You Are Now
If you are lucky enough to reach adulthood and beyond, you learn that who you are now may not be the person you thought you would be or were on the road to becoming.
The other day I watched a show where the character had been seriously injured in Iraq. He turned away from his family and thought about what had been denied him.
“I was fighting myself, trying to be an empty version of what I was before. I need to try and find a way to be who I am now.”
Life throws us curveballs…places bumps in the road and forces us to take a path we had not planned.
Plans may have been changed because of an unexpected pregnancy. Many lives took a turn in 1969 with the Vietnam draft. An unfortunate ACL injury has curtailed many football careers.
We’ve all met people who could never get past who they had planned to become when they hit that curve in the road. Instead of pushing through, their focus was on what could never be.
Today, accept yourself for who you are NOW. And with that, find a way to move forward. Design that new version of YOU.
I’m learning how to grow into the space
I was always meant to occupy.

You’ve outgrown the version of you that needed to survive. It’s time to become the version of you that’s here to thrive.
