We are just over a week away from Memorial Day 2023. Did you know how The Memorial Day Flowers Foundation pays homage to the first official, national Decoration Day, now known as Memorial Day? A remembrance ceremony first took place at Arlington National Cemetery on May 30, 1868, to honor U.S. service members who died in the Civil War. Since 2011, the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation has organized flower tribute events at Arlington National Cemetery to honor and remember those who have served. Find out how you can pay tribute and lay flowers at the graves of the fallen on Sunday, May 28th.

If you are not close to Arlington National Cemetery you can make a donation for Memorial Day flowers. For every $15 donated, California and Colombia growers will match your donation to reserve your tote bag of two-dozen flowers.
Meantime, the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation just announced that donations for flowers have essentially “dried up.” If current trend persists, the foundation would have only 80,000 flowers to place at gravesites, which is well shy of the 310,000 goal for 2023. $150,000 is needed by May 24th to purchase enough flowers for all the graves at Arlington. Please donate if you can.
