Booms on the Beach - It's Launch Day!

Hi Faye, as you know, launches are big events here due to our proximity to NASA and the Cape and the Shuttle launches were always special. Did you ever see a launch in person? We are known as the "Space Coast" for good reason and this area is booming with the return to manned flight and all the launches. I think they said today was the 27th launch so far this year!

Brian, it is absolutely incredible to see a launch in person and it never gets old, each one is different. Check the launch schedule and plan a vacation here so you can see one in person! The day launches are awesome and the night launches are breathtaking so try to time it so you can see one of each.

I am definitely going to do that in the near future Diana Zaccaro Broker Associate but I don't know when.

Plan ahead, Brian, as this area is a popular vacation destination so hotels and such fill up quickly which can make it hard to be where you want at the price you want during the dates you want.

Beach time is the best and we have it all year round which makes it the perfect viewing place for a launch.

Hi Jeff, I haven't heard any numbers on the crowd today but I'm sure it was packed. Today was the second day of the Super Boat races which ended around 5pm and the launch was around 5:30 so between the spectators from the races and the usual launch day visitors, it would have been crazy. I think everyone should see a launch up close and in person at least once...it is an experience you will never forget.

Hi John, it's been all over the news and papers here but probably not given much coverage in other areas. The attempt that failed was not here but at one of the other launch sites and today's launch was flawless, went up on time without a hitch.

Hi George, I think everyone should see at least one launch up close and in person, preferably two since the day and night launches are quite different. There is a long list of launches set for this year so plenty of time to plan a visit.

Hi Endre, there have been so many and if they were scrubbed, rescheduled, etc. it was impossible to keep up with updating them. I heard that this was the 27th launch already this year so you can see why I had to cut back.

The launch today was noteworthy because of four astronauts going to ISS and, of course, the sonic boom alert is important so people know to expect it. We've had a few that were so strong some folks thought were earthquakes because they rattled windows and such but locals know to expect the sonic booms.

Love it just think 27 posts:) seriously I get it and wow 4 astronauts... I remember the original ones and  their names now I have no idea who has gone and returned for the past 30 years:)Endre
