The Right House is Screaming "Wait For ME" Buying a home can be very frustrating. Not only the qualifying first step. You know where you sit down with the mortgage banker with all your information. Your pay stubs, bank statements, and tax forms. You know all the things you had to search for. Hopefully, you did not try to skip this step. Then you figure out the price of the house you can really afford the payment you can live with.
Now we are ready to hit the road and find the house of your dreams. The one when we walk into you get that feeling. Oh yes, it is a feeling. It is the feeling that deep inside you know that this is home. You can live here. It may not have everything you thought you wanted but it does feel like home. It has that this is my house feeling. You decide you are going to make an offer.
We found the house and wrote up the offer . I called the listing agent she did not respond. Just as I was ready to email the offer the agent called. Oh, she said " I am so sorry we signed an agreement of sale this morning " Now we showed the house in the evening. When we were at the house another agent was leaving. When we left an agent was arriving to show the property. If the house was under agreement why didn't she cancel the appointment I asked her. Oh, she said she had trouble with her phone she was so sorry. What was the offer she asked. Apparently, by the tone of her voice, I assumed it was a better deal than what she closed.
The buyers were so upset but I insisted they snap out of it we have no time to waste. The right house is screaming "Wait for Me " that one was not it. Sure enough the next day a new listing came on the market. We made an appointment. There it was. The one the buyer had been waiting for. The buyer said let's get out of here. This is the right house you were right it was screaming wait for me.
On the way back to the office the other agent called. Said you can bring me your offer the buyers backed out. The buyer looked at me and shook her head no I found a house that was screaming wait for me. I told the agent I would get back to her. We wrote up the second house and the offer was excepted.
The moral of this story is when you have buyers and they think as they all do. They will never find a house. Assure them that they may lose several offers ..just remember the right house is screaming " Wait for Me " The perfect house is waiting and they will find it have patience
