During my last visit to Door County, WI I came across this wonderful House of Sticks.

Happy Go Lucky House of Sticks

Located on Horseshoe Bay Road, just south of the town of Egg Harbor, this historic farm is also home to a unique piece of artwork called the Happy Go Lucky. Happy Go Lucky is a house comprised of sticks from native maple, oak, and ash trees.

The sculpture is 32 feet in diameter and 18 feet high. It is expected to last 2-3 years.

Next time you are in Door County make it a point to stop by and visit Horseshoe Bay Farms and walk through the Happy Go Lucky sculpture.

First thing that comes to mind is Hobbit although their's are underground. 2 to 3 years seems a very short time for the work that must have been put in. mdm

Being unprotected, the weather will take its toll on the structure. A lot of work for a temporary piece of art.

Joseph Domino 480-390-6011 - now that is cool! I have been to Door County, Egg Harbor, Sister Bay, and spent retreats on Kangaroo Lake. But those were many years ago. I loved this special corner of the world!

I never heard of house of sticks but if I ever get back that way, I would stop to see it! I had to look it up and saw it is a new construction. I just love what creative people can do and your photo inside that house is terrific!

It was built in 2022. It is out of the way, you could drive right by if you are not watching.

What a great find and how very interesting! I'll bet a movie producer would have no problem coming up with a movie to use those stick houses!
