Expect downtown Austin to be busy this Memorial Week-end as the Annual Ascension Seaton CapTex Triathlon returns this year! We are expecting over 2300 triathletes from across 26 states and 4 countries to converge in our capital city to participate on Memorial Day in the Triathlon!
This one of a kind event blends the scenic splendor of Lady Bird Lake with the exhilarating thrill of a triathlon! The Tri features a swim course in Lady Bird Lake, a bike ride through downtown Austin, and a run course around the picturesque Auditorium Shores. What a great way to start the summer off in Austin!
On Sunday, May 28th there will be a Health and Fitness Expo at the Palmer Events Center. It’s free and open to the public.
There will be multiple divisions and distances depending on abilities. Professional triathletes and elites can begin at the same time regardless of age and age groupers are separated into fie-year increments. In addition, the event features Athena and Clydesdale categories. There are also aquabike and relay options for race day. The relay team can be composed of two or three members and the aquabike completes the swim and bike only. These events take lot of planning which they handle with ease. Last year marked the 30th anniversary of this event!
