This Week…School’s Out and Time to Honor the Fallen

 

School is out for children in our area.  That means summer is here…even if not officially.

It was fun seeing them screaming and running for joy as they got off the school bus and ran towards home.

At the grocery store this week, there was a big display of all the goodies necessary for S’Mores so guess who bought them?  The family will be over Sunday…the grill will be fired up…so it’s the perfect time for these treats. 

When I figured out how to work my grill, it was quite a moment. I discovered that summer is a completely different experience when you know how to grill. Taylor Swift



This is the 3 day weekend that signals the beginning of summer…summer vacations…outdoor grilling…and playing outside until parents tell us to come in!!!

However…let’s not forget why we have this weekend. It is to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for us…for our country.

Good morning Katy,

Summer is out and my son had a last day of school swim party for Handsome Hudson and 20 of his buddies! Thank goodness some dads came over to help as they devoured 12 pizzas! It is the start of summer and this week-end will be a time of remembering those who gave their life for our freedom.

Good morning, Kathy... school was out yesterday on the SC side of the Charlotte border. Not quite yet on the NC side. I still remember the excitement of the last day of school each year and then the excitement of the first day of the school year. Nothing much will be happening here in Charlotte in terms of grilling and s'mores... not only is it cold, we are expecting a ton of rain all three days of the weekend.

I've never been a fan of s'mores, but I do love a toasted marshmallow.
