Recessions Are Friendly To Real Estate

Good for real estate and great for buyers (and then by default sellers too)!

People are talking about a potential recession in this country and while I can’t tell you when, or even if a recession will take place, (it may have already begun), many experts are calling for a short, mild recession by the end of the year.

You’ll be surprised to know that it may mean good things for real estate !

Did you know rates fell in each of the last six recession in this country?

That means historically in a recession rates have come down!

But, that also means timing is essential, for when the general public decides it's "safe" to buy, they bidding wars and price increases will explode like 2021. Here's a little secret: buy smart, not safe.

If the higher mortgage rates of today have you questioning your homebuying plans you don’t need to fear the word recession when it comes to buying home.
I'm sure you have questions, so let’s connect!

While there is no such thing as perfect advice; I follow what the experts and the data are saying to provide you with the best advice possible so give me a call and I look forward to talking to you about the real estate market. I can also connect you to the best lender I know, like and trust: Jason E. Gordon to give you a more detailed explanation of why this is fact (not fears).

Talk soon!

As you said, timing is everything. When recession hits, those who have availability of cash or loans will get the deals.

It depends on the circumstances and the opportunity cost to make a purchase, your cash flow and debt service situation. Fear should not an issue when it comes to purchasing a tangible or intangible product or service.

I do not really listen much to the experts.  The last thing I remember them telling us it that inflation will be transitory.  If we do have a recession, though, I do agree that it is a great time to buy.  My best purchases ever were during the Great Recession.

I really enjoyed your video!

I do have a few I trust, Thomas J. Nelson, REALTOR ® e-Pro CRS RCS-D Vets.  I just try to stay on an even keel.  This has been a strange year with rates rising so fast.  It is a lot for our economy to go through.  I do agree with you, though, by the time everyone feels safe again, there likely will be a lot of buyers out there competing again.
