A Floral Fiesta of Fabulous Blooms!

Education & Training with Although I'm retired, I love sharing my knowledge and learning from other real estate industry professionals.

"The Earth laughs in flowers."

Although I always answer "Fall" when asked what my favorite season is, I genuinely love Spring. Who doesn't love the floral fiesta created by the combination of April Showers and the warmer temperatures the month of May brings? Watching the daily progress as the plants come out of dormancy and come alive again is such a joy.

I don't have the green thumb my husband did. His daughter Lisa inherited that from him. This year Lisa, who has a degree in floral design, came over and filled my flower pots with color bombs. We also planted some tomatoes and three baby Clematis plants.

My absolute favorite plant that announces the arrival of Spring is my purple phlox. It is always the first thing to bloom out in my small yard.

Another favorite is the pink Dogwood tree that blooms shortly after the phlox. We have a lot of Dogwood trees around central Washington. Some pink. Some white. And some pink and white.

I had the opportunity to spend the Memorial Day weekend in Port Townsend, Washington, with AR member Aura Alex. While driving around, I noticed the brightest red Rhododendron bush I had ever seen. That's the Featured Photo.

This is my entry into the ActiveRain May Challenge: Shower Power hosted by Debe Maxwell, CRS.

Hi Carol... that red rhododendron bush is beyond amazing. Does Lisa want a trip to Charlotte to do some work in my yard and on my porch?

Carol Williams you can come with her! Sorry I'll be missing your presentation this afternoon, but had a last minute call from a client to meet to discuss selling his home sooner rather than later... so off to meet with him.

Hey, Carol.

That featured photo jogged my memory! You brought the sunshine straight from Wenatchee to our "wet side" of the green scenery. That's a memory worth holding onto!

Well,... the purple flowers in Wenatchee are so breathtaking that I need to see them to believe them! I'll take a trip next Spring to witness the bloom magic myself.

That sounds like a great plan, Aura Alex . I'll make a separate post about our fun times meet-up. 😊

LOVE that gorgeous red Rhododendron, Carol! And, like you, the pink/white dogwoods are so beautiful and have always been a favorite of mine too. Your in George's comment is spectacular. Purple phlox is always such a great welcoming flower, ushering in spring. Like WA, it's soon followed by the dogwoods.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photos with us in this month's challenge. I think we need to have one of these for each season to share the beauty of seasonal flowers, trees & shrubs across the nation & beyond!

Hi CArol- Give me the purple phlox!!! I love it!  I used to have a green thumb when I was in grad school...I had flowers along our walk. Planting and caring for them was my break from studying. I can't wait to see your tomatoes.

I do love that purple phlox.  It is beautiful.

My dad used to live in Long Beach, Washington, on Willapa Bay.  His property was an old Rhododendron nursery, so he had them growing all over the place.  It was a gorgeous property!
