Pondering with purpose!

Hello Wayne - my alarm for awareness is definitely not always set accurately.  It not only ticks me off but drives me directions out-of-bounds, up various creeks and down never-ending streams of consciousness.  Where is the cruise control?  Is it a thrill a minute?  Well, that's a deep subject, isn't it?

Wayne- your affirmation struck a chord with me.  When I start a topic for a post, there are times when I must stop and ask myself the purpose of what I'm trying to say. Otherwise, it becomes a trainwreck of words. 

Wayne I do everything with a purpose, make no mistake about it. Every post has a purpose, to either get business, or get referrals or well you know the old saying "points" so with that said I do not need to ponder:)Endre

I read your post from May 11 forward and backward several times and then I wondered.

Why did I wonder because I was curious.

Curiousity led to the why? Why do I want to know? 

So then, I pondered to find the answer and I had to figure out what was the purpose?

I came to the same conclusion you did: "If you are not totally clear about the purpose of what you are doing, you have no chance of winning. Purposes defines success."

For example. I woke up thirsty and hungry and wondered, shoud I start my day with fresh squeezed orange juice or a fresh cup of coffee grinding the coffee beans?

And then I pondered.... again going back to the why? Fresh squeezed orange juice is a healthy choice. Grinding my own coffee beans smells good and tastes good. But then I had to make a decision, what was the purpose?

If my goal is to be good and healthy, fresh squeezed orange juice is right for me. I am about to start the process for making fresh squeezed orange juice because that is my goal, I am focusing on being healthy because that is what I desire. 

I think sometimes pondering must be done to find a purpose. I ponder a lot!

This is excellent advice to share and it applies to our personal lives as well as our business activities.

I think Michael keeps us all on our toes! He helps us all keep our focus.

I also feel that going back in time and reviewing, for example, an older post,  is valuable input.   My  aunt, a Benedictine nun and professor at St. Scholastica College in Duluth, Minn., once told me that a person will get extra and valuable input when watching a movie a second time. I believe this would also apply to retrieving and rereading our older posts --insightful moments.  

Wayne Martin and Michael Jacobs - you both inspire many of my ponderings, so while you ponder your own journey, ponder this pondering of mine: Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers? If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked? 

Purpose defines success. Love that.

When our boys were growing up, I told them it's important in life to find purpose and when setbacks happen to re-group and move forward. Enjoyed this post, Wayne.  

Interesting thought process.  Often my purpose drives my intention. So how does play in?  HMMM.....  Thanks for the ponder Wayne!

I'm so glad that Kathy Streib featured your post in her "Ah-Ha" moments for the week as I missed it! Pondering is a good thing but I do fine there needs to be purpose for me or I find the pondering useless!

A well deserved feature in Kathy's pick of the week! I enjoyed it when you originally posted too!

Funny thing about many of the business building seminars as well as strategic business planning classes, few mention purpose. I am with you. Your purpose sets you on the path toward your vision or the culmination of your purpose if that every really happens. And yes purposes does change as we grow older and have more experiences as well as opportunities.
