It was on Netflix as one that was recommended. I dont always go for using the recommended features but this one was interesting. It was released in 2017 doing a search on wiki came back with a 1939 drama with the same name.
They mention many movies "Mrs. Miniver" directed by William Wyler along with "Best Years of our lives" which featured Veterans returning home from the war and their families.
I imagine there are great reviews of this movie "5 came back" but the demo made me want to watch it.
They mention "why we fight" a seven movie series. Wiki explains the series this way
" Why We Fight is a series of seven propaganda films produced by the US Department of War from 1942 to 1945, during World War II." directed by Frank Capra
They covered Frank Capras "Its a Wonderful life" that was the only movie made by the startup company that was started by a directors collaboration of multiple directors who were in the military serving as field photographers returning home from the war, the movie was not a immediate success and lost money at the box office. It became a Christmas classic after its copyright lapsed in 1974 and it fell into the public domain.
John Huston director "maltese falcon" and Let There Be Light
John Ford director "Battle of Midway"
George Stevens director "diary of Ann Frank" and "Nazi Concentration Camps"

5 came back also covered the blackouts in Hollywood fearing the lighting being on the city could lead to bombing during the war.
Disney was shown during this movie and the topic was raised that they helped the movies that helped with recruitment of soldiers with the animation of planes and maps in the news reels before the main attractions to help fight the NAZI propaganda of the war.
