Over the past few months, I was enrolled in the Flower Mound Citizen's Police Academy. Today, I proudly announce I graduated on May 30, 2023. I am located on the bottom left corner and in the front row of the group picture with my class and Peace Officers and Detectives. I am the woman in black.

From being part of a mock SWAT Team pullover and arrest, actually having the experience of pulling over a Police Officer to pretend I was issuing him a warning for an expired license, participating in an reenactment for two Search & Rescues, learning about financial and property crimes, crimes against people, learning about PRU/Narcotics investigation, and watching a PowerPoint presentation about crimes against children taught by the Detective that investigates those crimes. Everyone practiced on a police training simulator called MILO and utilized an unloaded Glock-style pistol that was equipped with a laser and utilized on a simulator. Basically, a grown-up version of Duck Hunt.
We had learning opportunities about traffic and accident investigations, meeting the K-9 Officer and watching him work with his super human-like real Belgian Malinois dog (first used in WW1 as a Red Cross Dog, also the first police dogs used by the Belgian police), and so much more. I learned a lot and now I am officially an alumni for the Flower Mound Citizens Police Academy and proud of it!
As a residential citizen for the past 25+ years, the Flower Mound Police Department has proven, without a doubt, they partner with the community with "unwavering commitment to community engagement, innovation, collaboration, ethical leadership, and the most efficient and effective use of our resources."

To be clear, I am still licensed as a TX REALTOR®. This training has taught me more about safety and a behind the scenes look at what the Flower Mound Police do for the community. I understand them more today than yesterday and appreciate all they do. As a result of my training, I am better educated when it comes to safety in my career as a real estate agent in Flower Mound and the Dallas-Fort Worth areas for buying and selling real estate
