Today is Hug Your Cat Day... it's a purr-fectly paw-some day to show your feline babies some extra love! That's not to say that those of us who live with and love our cats ever really need an excuse to show our fur babies love and give them an extra hug or two.

Have you heard? Hugging and cuddling a cat is good for your health! It helps alleviate negative moods, reduces stress levels, and engenders calm. I know that's true for me when I hug my cat. I don't wait until Hug Your Cat Day to hug my cat... Mr. Marlow gets hugs every day all year long.

If you don't have a cat to hug today why not borrow one from a friend? Don't have a friend from whom to borrow a cat, why not adopt one at your local shelter? Leanne Smith hi Leanne... well, we have both-- a cat and a dog and love both equally. At one time we had two cats and two dogs at the same time. When we lived in NY City, Paris, London, Abu Dhabi we only had cats... between travel, apartment-type living, etc. having a dog was not the best of ideas. I've not lived where riding horses was really an easy option, so it's one thing I've always felt I missed out on in life.

I do understand how folks prefer one type of pet over another. Personally I don't understand how people could not love horses and ride them. I do understand about dogs as they are more trouble than cats.

Will Hamm hi Will... when I had a feral cat that came to us it also let me pet it, but nothing more. Once Bingo arrived the cat moved next door.
