Last night was the 4th of July, and usually we can expect to have some fireworks going off in the neighborhood backyards. But last night, I think one of my neighbors got ahold of some "commercial" fireworks and was setting them off in the hood. They shook my entire, house, lit up my back yard, and rained down lighted sparks on my pole building, and in the yard, not to mention, scaring the CR*P out of me. I don't know where poeples common sense or responsibliity goes on the 4 th of July anymore, but it sure seems like they are endangering a lot of people and property when they do things like this. That's why they have public displays, so that we can watch them safely and not be endangerd by people who don't know how to handle them. I had some big bangs going on around me too. I wasnt going to sleep so I got a lot of reading in and my daughter got to see fireworks from her window.
Some people DO get a little crazy. I lived in Hawaii and they celebrate the Chinese New Year there. Four times BIGGER!
I think the really big fireworks should be left to the professionals. They are very dangerous, especailly if you are not trained to handle them.
We had a lot of Really Good Shows here in our area. Such a variety to choose from...
On another point... Have you considered contacting the active|rain gods about putting on a contest to promote your group? Maybe giving away so many active|rain points for the best 3 posts in a particular field...
Hmm. Michael, that's an interesting point I had not thought of. I will look into it. Thanks.
