I always remember this junction in England, it was called Spaghetti Junction and there was usually a hold up for one reason or another. The number of times when I commuted that I have sat in a traffic jam and got frustrated at the delay and waste of my time sitting in traffic cannot be counted on toes and fingers.
I am happy with the development of AI, because I think it will bring the day much closer where we will have flying cars. No traffic jams, or delays, a simple flight, controlled automatically from start to finish by a flying vehicle.
Imagine, you exit your home, most likely with your personal robot alongside and enter your vehicle, there is plenty of space and you punch into the dashboard your destination. Nanoseconds later the vehicle lifts from the ground, finding the perfect height and direction to proceed to your destination, avoiding other vehicles and congestion, adjusting height and speed to make the journey in the shortest possible time.
Whilst you are travelling, your vehicle automatically updates you on the arrival time, and reminds you of the purpose of your trip, it has made those real estate calls you need to be completed on the journey as well. It has blocked countless spam calls or calls from companies selling you lead systems, and automatically reported them to the central registry.
It reminds you that you need to purchase a present for your loved one or family member, or even a business colleague and suggests some appropriate things to consider. On selecting one, it either places the order for it to be delivered or programs a stop into your schedule for you to collect the item yourself at a store where most likely a robot will assist you in your purchase.
On the way home you remember you need wine for dinner and you stop by the State Store to collect a bottle or two. On arrival, the robotic assistant asks what you are purchasing for, on mentioning dinner it then asks what is on the menu and suggests several wines that are appropriate for the meal with each rated.
Everything is relaxing, and wonderful, with great wines accompanying your dinner as you watch your personal robot walking your loving pooch for its evening constitutional.
