On behalf of the State Department, while working with the Ambassador for the United States of America, my daughter presented awards to many U.S. Diplomats and members of the Military for missions and work that they did in many parts of the world. She is very happy in her new position.
I am proud of my daughter. She is a strong woman. We talked this afternoon about where she got her strength. She left me speechless, when she told me most of her strength came from being raised by a single mom and having had her years of experience from Wyonegonic Camps in Denmark, Maine.
I know Father's Day is coming up, but to hear my daughter appreciate what I did for her, without assistance or charity, touched me deeply. I know that somewhere in the universe he is up there, proud of the woman she has become.
