Where is the remedy?

By
Real Estate Agent with Wayne M Martin

Way back in 2011 I wrote a post on the following affirmation:

Don't find fault. Find a remedy!

Some things do not change as much as we would like them to change. Listened to the news lately? Nobody is right according to the reporters. Their job is to create controversy and chaos without regard for the truth of the facts. Is that the problem?

Is the remedy reporting the facts and allowing us to make our own conclusions? Should we demand only the facts and not their personal opinions? Personally separating the facts from the fiction and opinion is too frustrating to attempt. And, that is not a remedy, it may be a part of the problem.

So things don't change! Enjoy your day.

When it comes to the "news", I am like the ostrich with my head in the sand. My sanity cannot tolerate it.

Hi Wayne:

That's a great affirmation! Just complaining without making an attempt to fix the problem doesn't accomplish much. Granted, some things we complain about are not things we can fix, but so often people do complain and then do nothing. Sometimes seeking out others who CAN help is the best remedy...like ARMS!!

Hi Wayne- some things don't change. Many people have stopped listening to the news. Maybe those in the business will get the message. It's important for us to encourage critical thinking in our young people...to teach them to think and reason.

It would certainly be nice if they'd report what went on and let us draw our own conclusions. WAY too much opinion in place of news - and way too many assumptions before the actual facts are in.

My solution is to stay away from the TV most of the time.

I began watching the BBC as a diversion from the crud we have in the US. There was typically done good wit too …. But alas, they are CNN East … all of the drama and none of the facts. They really hated Boris Johnson

Wayne Martin  when we came to this country in 1967 we discovered that the news did not cover World News.... only local US news.... and even that was tainted.... and lets add up the numbers in 56 years things did not improve rater it got worse, but that is just my two cents, Endre

I would love to have the facts only. But adjectives abound and the news is now the opinion of those who provide it.

Wayne Martin - 0h my gosh, the timing for me to read this and compare to being streamed lined yesterday evening with a book author from Illinois who wrote about the 1968 Democratic Convention drives home your point very clearly. For starters the host and the author were not even born in 1968 or old enough to draw on information they read using their opinons about Walter Cronkite, Mayor Daley, and other well-known names and the PEOPLE involved in the demonstrations and what actually happened. As someone who lived through that era and in very close proximity to the 1968 events broadcast all over the world in 1968, I was shocked at how much misinformation was given with such strong convictions they were right about everything, including words used in the discussion that never existed in 1968 but are common today.

Hello Wayne - it has been said that history repeats itself. And it's often delivered with a twist or two.  As for criticism of many things that's turned a bit topsy-turvy too.

Hello Wayne Martin

The media has always been a problem as far back as media goes. In a perfect world, the media would only offer the "true" facts and NOT their opinion. Although there ARE legitimate reporters/journalists they usually find themselves at odds with their editorial managers/owners. Just look at Tucker Carlson.

The phrase also applies to problems that come up in life.

This is much easier to apply to things where we can actually effect a change in our personal lives.  But I am firm believer that if people thought this way in their personal life, they would soon wake up to the nonsense that we call news.  Once you focus on facts and solutions, you can't tolerate someone just aiming to push your buttons to feel a certain way.
