Beauty of the Antelope Valley Poppy Blooms 2023 ~ SoCal living

Poppies are in the full bloom explosion in 2023! 

Where:

The Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve

However, blooms are pretty much everywhere! You'll see mustard, goldfields, poppies and other windflowers along CA highways soon after leaving the city. 

When:

Best time to see poppies is Mid February through April. 

Great for anyone who loves photography, nature, hike opportunities, or just time out from a busy city life.

I’ve been living in SoCal soon-to-be 20 years and I am in love with the area. 

Yes, undubtfully, there are many important unappealing sides of living in L.A.: cost of living, terrible traffic & parking, homeless overflow, pollution, etc. etc. etc. 

Nevertheless, allow me to share my favorite awesome moments and memories of living in L.A. hoods: art, culture, food diversity, beaches and parks, architecture and nature.

The red puppies are hardest to grow. Yellow are California native. White occurs in wild also.  I had pink crossbred once. I got mine from neighbor wind blew over.\

It is summer but feels like winter this season.

Yeh, it is cold in L.A. hoods too. I'm in the desert now and it is 100f~ CA is amazing that we can drive 20 min from a heavy ocean fog into the heat and another hour into the snow and back another hour into the hottest dry desert:)

I have white one next to red over the years it cross breed to pink.  But I have no luck germinating red ones this year. Sod red and orange flowers took over.
