A Different Type of Golf Course Wildlife
I have been fortunate enough to have played golf all over the country and even some parts overseas. I am always amazed at the types of wildlife one can see on a golf course,
Geese and deer are plentiful. In the southeast, alligators are common, and I have to laugh when I see a sign that says don't feed the wildlife. As if I was going to get that close to a large gator.
I have seen bears, bobcats, fox, coyotes, all manner of birds and even a couple of cows and some wild horses and donkeys.
How about a sizeable iguana sauntering across a practice green?
These are Chuco, or burrowing owls, that stand about 8" high and are very common on the golf course in Aruba.
The site of a heard of goats is different but they are plentiful on this island and enjoy the lush grass of the fairway to graze.
This herd was large with kids and there appeared to be just 3 mamas with them. It was a pleasant round with very nice scenery and one I will have the opportunity to repeat.
