July 4th 2023…Happy Birthday, Land That I Love

Happy Birthday, America! 


At 247 years young, it is time to celebrate our nation’s birthday.  

 

 

While we are not without our faults, I would not want to live in any other country.  

 

Like families around the world, we fight, argue, and have different opinions about everything. 

 

However, it is important to remember that in times of crisis, We The People come together.

As it is customary to bring a gift to someone celebrating a birthday, I give to you, America, my commitment to continue to honor, protect, and support you.

I will NEVER FORGET seeing my friends Mother with the number tattoo on her wrist. She was a young child and captured by the Nazi's and sent to a concentration camp. An  absolute miracle she and her siblings survived.

If that doesn't affect a person and what it means to be free, I don't know what will.

We don't bring enough of our gifts to our country anymore. Instead we bring discord and division that is not designed to build us up together. very sad

Lise Howe I feel as you do. There are many who want us divided and uneducated.  It is important to remember how we all came together after 9/11 and other tragedies. That is where our strength lies.

Hi Kathy,
Abe Lincoln has always been one of my favorites for quotes. I have not heard the one you included today, but it resonates with me. It reminds me of the JFK quote about asking not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.
