No picture of author no read

This has been an issue for a long time. When I'm looking to send out a referral to an agent if I see no picture on their webpage or Active Rain page I do the same... I press the next button.

Hello Mike - people do (and don't do) all sorts of things and for all kinds of reasons. 

I remember joining ActiveRain many years ago, it took me a while to understand the importance of a profile photo.  And now, I no longer care - so, the one I have, may be considered post peak (or is that post peek???) by some.

If you want me to read your new post make sure to load your profile picture so that will show then I will read what you have to say.

A Feature photo at the top of your blog post is important too. Sometimes that picture alone can pique the interest of potential readers.

Mike, in our business, we need to see a photo, and I move onto the next if there isn't one.

Hi Mike- good to see you here,   It is a personal preference however I like to see who it is I'm "talking" to.  I tend not to stop at posts that don't have a "person" profile photo. 

Hmm, seems that you spend your time in a whole different part of the Rain than I do on a daily basis, haha.  I have never heard of the group that you speak of.

I wonder if the blogger gets it.  ??  This should be one of the first things a new blogger does when signing up.  It is part of marketing yourself. 

I agree with others, no photo no outreach. A lack of a photo for me creates immediate distrust. Congrats on the feature as well.

Glad to see Kathy Streib featured your post. I don't understand why someone wouldn't insert their photo. If you don't have a photo its hard to connect with others and sends up a red flag if you are to be trusted. I also agree having a featured photo at the top of your post will get more traction from others.

Early on those faceless posters used to be called phantom bloggers, like they were in witness protection. Put up a photo, and not one that is over 40 years old and let the world know who is behind the words.

What a great post, now with that said I would not be here if it was not for Kathy Streib  featuring your post.... that tells me we do not interact, that is the second part of being on this platform it has created friendships and a great many referrals which translated to lots of $$$$

Really have to say AMEN to that post!  I think putting your picture and information about who you are and where you work is elementary!  Like you, I will also keep scrolling!  I also was intrigued by your group SpiritualRain ... I will have to check it out!  Sounds very interesting! Mike Frazier
