No question the real estate market is different from a year ago! Also no question that the market will be different 30-90 days from now. So what to do to stay ahead, profitable and relevant?
Doesn't sound like a lot of fun but the term "Back To Basics" comes to mind!
You know, calling buyers, sellers and clients every day. Posting to your web site. using forums such as Active Rain. Working Google Business and posting it and Yelp and a hundred others with some content. Here is a novel one... send three cards a day to your data base and folks you know.
How about this... actually go to your office everyday... we all have heard experts talk about letting the conversation around the water fountain getting you down. True but just being in the office you can also learn. You might get some good conversation and ideas from your companies agents. While there (if you don't do it from home), pick up the local paper and scan it for news. A) you might get good information to make conversation with when you are making phone calls or writing notes and B) find something going on that you can capitalize on (recently I saw an article, put on my thinking cap, picked up the phone and made a couple appointments and 6 months later closed a $4,310,000 sale all from a headline in the paper.
It may seem silly but wear company branded jackets or shirts or a name tag. People like to talk about real estate... especially now. At the Supermarket a few weeks ago the checkout person asked me a question. Today I am showing her a home!
And here is the neat thing... this is almost all free! No contracts no paid leads and no scams.... just good ole basic work ethic and showing people you care about your job and about them. If you. can master this art, then you have a good basis to build on and to the nay sayers smile as you walk to the bank.
