Buckets are FULL in La Quinta thanks to Hurricane Hilary!

By

We were prepared for the worst and it took a while to get here. I put out buckets and trash bins to catch the run off... of course they filled quickly.  I took down all of the umbrellas, cushions, stowed pots and glass, and waited.  Late in the day Sunday the steady drizzle turned into a downpour, and then the wind came!  I'm sure many trees are down on the golf course, but we did not sustain any damage.  We are safe and our home is dry.  Others may not have been so lucky.

Clients and friends who own vacation homes here are calling and texting about the storm.  I'll be doing some home checking today and hopefully the roads will be open.  la quinta country club

Hurricane Hilary started with slow rain, but turned into quite a tropical storm- 3.18 inches in Palm Springs.  A years worth of rain in one day !

Hello Kathy - stay as dry as possible.  Sometimes, "bucket lists" bring other things to mind, don't they?

Well Kathy all I can say is - you are fortunate to have gotten that rain.  We're still waiting after months and months of a dry monsoon season.  We're used to intense monsoon storms so taking down all the umbrellas, storing cushions etc etc is standard practice for us desert dwellers.  Honestly we haven't done it once this season.

I say over 3 inches is a BIT over the top for sure!  I shutter to think what that would look like here.  We could get flooded out (almost happened once) at about 2 inches.  The mountains are right behind us so it's like water from heaven flowing everywhere.

Rain in the desert is a blessing and a curse... long soft rains are ideal as you know!  K

Hi Kathy - very happy to see that all is well with you and no damage was done to your home.  Is there any way you could send those bucketfuls of water here to South Texas????

I wish I could send it... I'm saving it now to water plants this week.  It will all be gone soon!  K

This one was pretty intense for a while- and many in other parts of our valley had flooding!  Mud in Cathedral City overtook homes and businesses.  We are lucky to live in a home that can withstand quite a bit!

I am glad to hear that all is well at your home!  I hope that those rains continued on to Arizona since we don't get much rain at all in my area.

Kathy Schowe The developers have looked into it, using your own posts, they claim that it is working as it should.  Unless you can provide specifics about how it is not working, they are at a loss.

Hi,  In the past I have posted the short url link on social media or sent it out via text.  I have been able to track clicks when the blog is opened by clients/friends.  Now when I post it or send it --- nothing registers in STATS.  I have sent it to people and asked them to click link-- my husband, friends, myself, and the clicks of the URLS are not showing up.  Isn't that how it is supposed to work?

That sounds right.  But it did work for us.

Kathy Schowe can you share the short URL link with us that you sent out so that our developers can test it, and see if it shows up?

We tested your ShortURL's using your Speechless Sunday post... and it works just fine.  So no obvious error using Short clicks.  The system is working fine.

Good morning Kathy Schowe ,

You are lucky to live in a home that can withstand quote a bit of rain. Maybe the drought is over for you....its hard to get a weeks worth of rain in one day. We finally got some rain last night coupled with high winds and lost our power for 2 hours! Hopefully AR Support can help you.
