This Week…Heat and More Heat

We’ve had Air Quality alerts this week so for those of us with lung issues that means early morning walks, then stay in for the rest of the day.
It’s the time of year when education and learning are at the top of our minds. Our grandson, Hugo, begins his freshman year at Larry’s alma mater, the University of Kansas. We have another family member who is off to his first year at Auburn.
He who learns but does not think, is lost! He who thinks but does not learn is in great danger.

When we’re younger we are required to go to school, either in a formal classroom or at home. Some of us “love” it so much that we go beyond the 12th year.
As we grow older we understand that learning is a 365-day-a-year JOY that stays with us (hopefully) for the rest of our lives.
In times of change learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.
