"Golf is not a game of striving for all perfect shots. It is a game of minimizing bad shots."
Gamble Sands Golf Courses are located in Brewster, Washington just 75 miles north of Wenatchee.
State and National Accolades
Named the #1 Public golf course in Washington State and #19 on the list of golf courses in the United States, Gamble Sands Golf Course is a place for golfers to enjoy the feeling of a unique golf experience with panoramic vistas. It offers views of the beautiful Cascade Mountains and the mighty Columbia River, meandering through the distance on every hole. Hiding In Plain Site
You won't experience any planes buzzing overhead, or traffic noises in the background. It's you, your playing partners, and golf in a tranquil setting. It's a hidden gem. You'd probably never stumble upon it unless you know where you're going. Even when you have directions, you won't be sure you're going in the right direction the first time you go. Just follow the directions and keep your eyes peeled for signs.
Three Courses, One Resort
There are 3 distinctly different courses at the Gamble Sands Golf Resort. There is the full-sized 18-hole "Sands" course, a 14-hole Par 3 course called the "Quicksand", and a challenging putting course. I haven't played either the Quicksand or the Putting Course, so I can't give a review on those. I have played the Sands course 3 times, and let me advise you for the first time you play it, be sure to play with someone who has played it before. It's a course that requires course knowledge, or you'll end up in some nasty bunkers and maybe even get lost between holes. The bunkers are not your friend. You'll probably end up in a few bunkers anyway, but less so if you have someone to give you some pointers on what to avoid.
Let's Talk Money
I might also add it's not an inexpensive course to play. The current open rates are listed at $242. Thankfully, one of our local Country Club members is related to the family who owns the Resort, so she gets us a special rate twice a year.
Lodging & Food Available:
Since Gamble Sands is located a bit off the beaten track, it's convenient to have a full restaurant and accommodations available onsite.
Don't Take My Word For It: Outside Testimonials
"Don't let the travel time discourage you. The course is well worth it. The fairways are perfectly groomed and the greens are even better. The entire layout of the course is genius. The risk/reward is 10/10. Definitely a course worth playing at any level of experience. I played the course last fall and wish I had more time to play it again. I'll make this an annual golf outing, and I'm sure you will want to do the same." -8Zcvr
