With autumn getting set to knock at our door, I suspect many Realtors and other aligned professions may be contemplating marketing strategies for the coming season. I may be able to provide an idea that will help.
Realtors are always looking for unique ways to get their name out to the public - and to keep it there! And, certainly when I was actively listing and selling real estate, I was no different! There were the usual newsletters, cold calling, and local newspaper ads that are usually seen.
But, in the midst of a really down cycle in the housing market, one autumn day, I found a neat way to efficiently and economically have marketing materials delivered for FREE. I decided to create little Trick or Treats for the kids visiting my door on Halloween. Inside each little treat bag, I placed not only the expected candies and treats for the children, I also placed a Certificate for a Free Market Analysis, for their parents.
Over my 40 years as a real estate professional, I was amazed at my success from marketing that way. There was absolutely no cost for distribution. There was no postage, or paying someone to distribute. The Halloween kids simply came to my door, and acted as delivery agents for the Market Analysis certificates, to their parents. I often told them, there was a little something extra inside those little bags of treats, for Mom and Dad. The added bonus for the children and their parents came from knowing WHO had provided the candy. And, that they could expect it to be safe for the children to eat.
I am certain other real estate professionals, in the ActiveRain community, have equally good ideas for creating, and distributing marketing materials to the public. And although I’m retired now, I’d love to hear them!
