Never forget!
Where were you when the world stopped turning? by Alan Jackson
Today marks 22 years since the September 11th attacks on the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The events of that day are etched in my mind and I remember it as if it happened just yesterday. I was getting ready to leave for work when I heard about the first plane but there were no details. As I drove to the office, I called my husband to see if he knew what had happened.
We were still on the phone while I waited for the elevator to my office and a television reporter and cameraman who were based in the building got off the elevator. They told me of the second strike and the hit to the Pentagon and I will never forget the grim expression on their faces as they rushed out the door.
No one in our office was able to work that day as we watched the horrible events unfold. The silence was deafening as we processed the enormity of what had happened and realized that life had changed in more ways than we could imagine.
The next morning I stopped in the Cafe in my office building for my usual cup of coffee and found copies of this photo on the counter.
One of the government contractors in the building put together the side by side photos of the flag being raised and made copies to share with everyone who worked in the building.
I loved the thought he put into this and still carry it in my wallet since 9/11. It's faded and has some wrinkles and tears but I refuse to part with it. What a powerful statement it makes!
