As a small town, the residents still find ways to socialize an enjoy the seasons to their best advantage. Wednesday nights throughout the summer months there are the concerts on the green.
For over 36 years, at the end of the summer the town gathers on the Green and the adjacent lots for the Sock Hop and Car Show that has had as many as 600 vehicles on display. For the afternoon, live bands play songs from the 60's 70's and 80's to the toe taping joy of those walking the grounds.
The Fall Festival is fun for the school children that decorate pumpkins and as they are displayed on the town green, prizes are awarded for each of the grades presented. The town green is the location for games, a modified maize and vendors with food as well.
One of the attractions of Prospect CT is a modern, state of the art school system as well as a well-managed town that has low property taxes and home values that make it very affordable for a growing family.
For a town so small, it is still possible to get groceries, a breakfast, lunch, or dinner at a pick of restaurants, do banking, visit a lawyer, dentist, accountant, drop into a CVS to fill a prescription, and get gas.
