I was a fan of the Broker Public Portal (BPP) you can find more info on that here if your not familiar https://brokerpublicportal.com/history/
"Broker Public Portal is an LLC. For a contribution of $5,000, your brokerage or MLS will:
- Become a voting shareholder of Broker Public Portal, LLC
- Become eligible to serve on the Board of Managers for the Broker Public Portal, LLC
- Become eligible to serve on the National Broker Portal, LLC.
For more information about how to support Broker Public Portal, LLC or to request a copy of the full governance agreement, please email Victor Lund at victor@wavgroup.com. "
I was intrigued by BPP but I do still have concern for our appraisers and the move for consolidation of their jobs by use of desktop appraisals now being approved by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and industry standard, I shared that on a previous post here https://activerain.com/blogsview/5121802/broker-public-portal-update
Now those concerns are coming to light with the approval for lenders to use desktop to resale their mortgages https://www.newrezcorrespondent.com/bulletins/bulletin-2022-030-fannie-mae-and-freddie-mac-desktop-appraisal
I logged into homesnap today and found my automation is moving from homesnap.com to homes.com which both are owned by Costar group, you might have heard costar has consolidated the commercial industry with their purchase of competitors such as Cityfeet.com, Showcase.com, BizBuySell, LandsofAmerica.com, Ten-x formerly known as Auction.com and finally Loopnet.
I had used Loopnet for over a decade and one day logged in and found my profile was deleted on info with the takeover by Costar. I got a message that reminded me of this with the message that a forced
"The last day Homesnap will be available for your MLS will be 10/8/23
Note: The Homes.com password is the same as your Homesnap password."
So if your on Homesnap heres a reminder to update your Homes.com profile.
What do I mean by my title "Are we all working for costar group?"
I am asking the question is it right that we do all the data entry for free to be used for MLS listings only to have that information used by these large corporations to sell us leads and or ad space?
This seem like a reasonable solution.

"Homesnap is also integrated with leading MLS software systems, including CoreLogic’s Matrix and Black Knight’s Paragon, which allows agents to perform their essential MLS-related tasks from one device, using one app, wherever they are." I understood that Blackknight was a sponsor and investor so wasnt surprised to see the integrations with the platform of BPP.
Fair Display Guidelines was the key reason I was a fan of BPP and I hope that has been kept with the agreement with the new takeover that we wont be charged more than the 1.00 originally promoted per month we will see.
