Those who have seen my Autumn and Fall posts in past years, know that the leaves do not change (generally) untill late October with peak color coming in November.

The Autumnal Equinox is a moment in time. It is when the sun crosses the celestial equator. It is not an entire day. The season changes as soon as the sun makes that crossover.

So, even though we don't have color right now, here is a sample of what to expect.

Thank you, Dorie Dillard Austin TX - A lot of people don't like squirrels or chipmunks. I find them endearing. We have never had any issues with them. I love to see them scrambling around in the fall looking for nuts and food to store for the winter.

Hi Michael Jacobs - I didn't notice the change of seasons as much in SoCal when I lived there. In Sedona, you can see and feel the changes. We have so many trees and the shadow change is noticeable besides the more pleasant temps as well.
