Country Comfort -Historical Significance-Ecologically Important
Sprinkle Lane is located in the heart of The Greenspring Valley on a .55-acre private dead-end lane. This is where old meets older- a 2-story 1783 log house was merged with the existing two-story 1903 tenant house.
The log house, back in 1988, was in a field west of Frederick, Maryland. At that time, it had no roof, nothing between the logs, and the only occupants were cows. The present owner moved this log house to Baltimore's Greenspring Valley to its current location.
Check out the bedroom skylight/window in the ceiling, installed by the owner, to enjoy the moon at night and more light during the day.
Imagine your porch swing on the colorful front porch.
The bright dining room, 17' x 13'', is the perfect setting for an old-fashioned Thanksgiving dinner.
A window pass-through was created to fit the placement of the log house when joined to the existing home. That opening goes into the living room, approximately the same size as the dining area.
It's interesting to note that the present owner did the chinking. For those who may not know, this is the whitish sealant used to fill the spaces between the logs. This material is designed to be flexible, expanding/contracting to allow the logs to adjust to humidity and temperature changes.
Also on the first level is a multipurpose family/guest room with a recent full bathroom and a wood stove.
The country kitchen has gas cooking (propane), a door leading to the patio, terraced flower gardens, and trees.
Upstairs is 3-4 bedrooms, a walk-in closet, skylights, and a full bathroom. The dry basement, accessed through cellar doors (or as I refer to them as 'Wizard of Oz' doors) from outside, houses the laundry and shop with two workbenches and shelving.
Sprinkle Lane is a charming country home waiting to welcome new owners.
Close to everything...minutes to I-795 and Wegmans.
