  • 400 BILLION cups of coffee are consumed ANNUALLY worldwide!

  • Specialty coffee sales are increasing by 20% per year and account for nearly 8% of the $18 billion U.S. coffee market. 43% of coffee drinkers opt for specialty coffees.

Brewing The Perfect Cup Of Coffee:

"Adventure in life is good; consistency in coffee is even better."

... Justina Chen Headley

Perfect coffeeHow to best brew a cup of perfect coffee seems to be a never-ending conversation amongst coffee lovers. I grew up drinking coffee that was percolated on a stove top. I still think that's the tastiest coffee I ever drank. And, oh, the aroma of that percolating coffee! Sadly, my mother's percolating skills did not pass down to me.

Over the years I've experimented with all the coffee brewing methods -- percolating, automatic drip machines, manual drip, coffee presses. When we built our home in 2006, I opted for a built-in Miele coffeemaker and have never looked back. There's just nothing like a freshly brewed cup each and every time. The major drawback to this machine (besides how expensive it is) is  that you can't use flavored beans in it. So when the mood strikes me for a flavored cup of coffee, I go back to my automatic drip machine.

"Life is too short for bad coffee."

... Joseph Baumel

Whatever your favorite method of preparing coffee might be, here's information on how to brew that perfect cup of java:

Hello Miss Nina Hollander, Broker I am an unapologetic coffee lover.  I love it as a treat when I wake up each day.  I have the discipline to wait until I do what I need to do before my coffee.

I love my coffee organic, black, and hot.  My first sip, I say yum, so good, followed by giving thanks for it.

Wow - you have certainly shared a wealth of information about coffee in this post!

Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist hi Kathleen... I'm just the opposite... I don't do anything until I've had that first cup of coffee (except maybe feed my cat who is not patient). As a kid I couldn't wait to grow up to be able to have coffee... my mother was all about coffee so I think it's in my genes! :)

Chocolate and Coffee, oh my! My two favorite days of the year as well.

I looked through some of the recipes and feel inspired to go have a coffee peanut butter protein smoothie as a snack. It sounds delish!

Ed (Edward) Silva, 203-206-0754 good morning, Ed. My day doesn't start at all without that first cup of coffee. The only thing I do while it's brewing is feed my cat. Otherwise, everything waits until I've had that first sip.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS good morning, Paul... wondering what kick-a$$ tea you found. Tea actually has more caffeine than coffee. I don't actually drink coffee for the caffeine... I drink it for the taste.

Brian England well, I don't know about that, Brian. Starbucks put a lot of coffee shops out of business in the past few years and I believe they also are closing down stores.

Nina Hollander, Broker - I don't have coffee everyday at home but when I travel I love to try new (non franchise) Coffee Shops! The experience is always different.

Several years ago there was a quaint little Book Shop with a coffee bar and unique desserts inside the shop with plenty of tables and chairs. I loved going there. It wasn't in Flower Mound, but close enough. Unfortunately it went out of business. Gosh I miss it!

Nina Hollander, Broker - You can't imagine how surprised I was to walk into a Barnes & Noble a couple months ago in Lewisville (next to Flower Mound) and see empty shelves and 50% off sale signs on everything! I found out that was their last day and closed. Then I went to Highland Village (same day; another bordering city to Flower Mound) and the building was being torn down. B&M is gone there too.

BUT! There is GOOD NEWS! A new Barnes & Noble is opening in Flower Mound the second week in November 2023! We still have a 1/2 Price Book Store and I enjoying going there too, but they don't sell coffee.

Coffee & Books goes together like peanut butter & jelly. Not that I'm a fan of P&J but you know what I mean.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP it makes me so sad to see so many bookstores disappear. Shopping on line is not quite the same experience. I grew up going from bookstore to bookstore on Fifth Avenue in NYC.... most are now gone... and they were just the most beautiful buildings. Now, personally, I am a fan of peanut butter and jelly... I just don't indulge frequently!
