We can always find something to be thankful for…as long as you’re open to it.
Since people are going to be living longer and getting older, they'll just have to learn how to be babies longer. Andy Warhol
I was dreading last Wednesday because I had jury duty, It’s not that I don’t want to perform my civic duty. I’ve served on juries before.
You can't help getting older, but you don't have to get old.
However, this was at the county courthouse in downtown Houston. The last time I served on jury duty in Houston, I parked a few blocks away. The parking attendant lost my car keys!
Getting older is no problem. You just have to live long enough.
As luck would have it,I got a text the night before saying that my service was canceled because the parties had come to an agreement.
For that I am thankful.
I grabbed a pile of dust, and holding it up, foolishly asked for as many birthdays as the grains of dust, I forgot to ask that they be years of youth.
Larry and I got colds this week…well actually he got one first and then was kind enough to share it with me.
I’m thankful because we haven’t had colds in years.
Which presented another issue. Since we rarely get colds, I’d forgotten what to give us.
I am thankful that we’re on the mend!
And, as we enter the month of October, our temperatures, while still in the upper 90s, are no longer over 100 degrees. It no longer feels as if we’re stepping into a sauna when we walk outside.
For that, I am very thankful.
I am also thankful for another year spent with my family and friends (real and in Cyberville) and with all the nature around me.
I was brought up to respect my elders,
so now I don't have to respect anybody.
Have a wonderful weekend!
